2020 EVENT UPDATE

March 11, 2020

CU*SOUTH remains committed to serving the best interests of our credit unions. Our Board and management have determined that, given the uncertainty surrounding the spread of COVID-19 through travel and meetings, it would be prudent to postpone our Visionary Conference until we, as a country, start to see the true shape of this disease, and have the data to understand the true risk factors associated with the virus.

We will be moving our annual shareholder meeting to a “live online” format. Owners, please look for an announcement about CU*SOUTH’s Annual Meeting on April 9.

Over the coming weeks, we will explore other ways to evolve the 2020 Visionary Conference to better connect with our CUSO family via the web.

We have every expectation that vaccines and treatment regimens will improve; and that testing will become more widespread and yield better data. We look forward to understanding the disease from a national or international perspective, and not as isolated regional events. We just don’t know how long it will take for our national understanding of COVID-19 to resolve into a clearer risk profile.

Until then, we will focus on our employees and our clients. We will continue to visit and work with clients, and assist credit unions with providing support to members in need. The current drop in travel has placed pressure on a number of sectors, including hospitality workers, local retailers, and gig economy workers like Uber drivers. They will need their credit unions to be there for them.

We are also prepared for the possibility of increased social distancing. Our business infrastructure has been designed to support 100% of our staff working from their homes, with no loss of service for client support or our collaborative services such as accounting, collections, and IT management. CU*SOUTH’s responsiveness and agility is a strength our credit unions can count on. We’ve supported credit unions through hurricanes, flooding, and other natural disasters – and we’re ready to lend our support to your credit union.
